 Post subject: Growing the Guild

I will admit that I have been loathe to do this as I like the small community of folks we have here and enjoy running things in a ten man mode.

Unfortunately, we have too many folks who seriously want to raid and who are seriously available to raid.

I have been looking into what I need to do to shore up things in Hells' absence or such, and I can manage to get things done for the first wing of ICC. But after that we run into problems. This isn't a demeaning statement at all. It is simply that after the first wing, the difficulty and more importantly gear curve spikes sharply. It is hard to just change to an alt or even an offspec and perform at the level that we need to.

And while everyone truly has stepped up admirably, I am looking at what my, what our, options are.

And in doing so I had to evaluate the team we have in place. Looking seriously at who I have, I have over ten people who are pretty much ready to raid every raid night. Throw in those I know want to raid but for some reason or other simply can't be there every night we do raid, and I am getting closer to 20.

The problem is that that puts me in such a quandary when we have everyone on and I can only take 10 people in to raid. My cerebral thoughts say to take the 10 who are pretty much there all the time (with exceptions for real life) and focus on just that group. But that makes sense neither logically nor emotionally (for me). I don't want to leave people out for one. And if I do, then those people won't be around when those real life situations come up and I need them to step in.

So I need to think in terms of stretching for 25s again.

I am not sure how I am going to do this, and I know we will go through some growing pains both with the people we have and with anyone we bring on board. But this is necessary if we are all going to stay together and move forward and most importantly be happy continuing to have fun in the game. I just hope you understand where we are, where we are going, and that we are stretched thin at the moment and looking to ease that up.

One thing that I want to do to help me get us growing is progress. People are attracted to success. Right now we have nothing differentiating ourselves from a myriad other ten man raiding guilds. I want to make that differentiation.

This is why I have this (http://www.sinfulspiritsguild.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=484) post.

And as we grow, we will make sure that people are of the same mindset as (I think) all of us are. I try to keep it casual. I try to be fair and honest in all things. But I am human and as such I do make mistakes. I think you all know me well enough by now to be comfortable with who I am and how I do things. And we all know each other well enough to be comfortable with each other.

So hopefully we can just bring more like minded individuals into the fold.

Please feel free to comment or offer suggestions. :D

Doing 25s would be a nice change. And raiding 1 weekend night fits my schedule. I'm tired of pugs and have been giving some thought to moving 1 toon to a 25man guild but it's dam hard to leave the family of friends in this guild.

I would certainly be up for some weekend raids 25 mans would be great but the problem being not everyone is willing to do that or they say they will and choose not to show.

I would love to see our guild doing 25 man content I feel we are behind alot of other guilds out there by not doing 25 man....

IDK personally I think we need to build up the ranks and get folks that want to raid more the problem being is that Sinful is a casual guild and not a hard raiding guild and I think that turns people away that are looking for more raiding...

If we could get people to commit to a serious raid nite on a weekend that would be great..

BJ time to get ur officers out there recruiting so we can see the bigger content...
